Default K6 phone booth help needed

Good afternoon all. I’m trying to find the dimensions of the hardwood door surround for a K6 ‘Jubilee’ phone kiosk. I have the cast iron window frame insert and have long thought of making a timber surround for it so that it looks more like a phone box door.

Try as I might and short of driving around the countryside tape measure in hand, I can’t find the dimensions... Just the external dimensions of the timber door surround would do it (as I can work out the internal dimensions from the window frame).

Any clues?

Measure and add 1/8th of an inch all round?

There is a red phone box without a door lying in a field near me, sounds like it should be married to your door.
If you are interested I can ask the land owner if he wants to part with it.

I've attached an extract from Drawing 60905 which gives the dimensions of the hardwood door frame.

I got the wrong door frame, I thought door lining. I love the proper drawing from steve102, teak isn't cheap.

Folks!

I’m sorry for my silence. I signed up for email alerts and didn’t receive any so I assumed no replies... Silly mistake.

Thanks for all your help and advice and I’m now quite well along with the project. - Though I’ve abandoned the hardwood door surround as too expensive and am now using CLS timber, cut to the appropriate size (or as near as damn it) and painted to match.

I’ve just received a replacement handle but I’m disappointed to find that it appears to be silver painted mild steel (or cast metal) and not of the quality or finish that I expected. So if anyone has a spare genuine door handle...! (And this one was sold as genuine).

The box without a door lying in a field is tempting but I think I have enough to be getting on with!

Thanks again.

It's the sort of timber commonly used for studwork.

Hi.

Yes CLS timber very good for studwork and other projects. I've just finished building a small workshop with 3x2 CLS (actual size 63 x 38mm). It has the great advantage of having rounded corners and generally well planed to minimise the risk of splinters. Just ordered some more to build a sturdy workbench for the workshop.

Regards,
Symon
