Removing blu tack residue.
I just acquired a nice pair of Spendor SP2/2 hi fi speakers in smooth dark wood style finish cabinets. Each corner at the underside had about a 4x4 cm square remains of blu tack attached to stop wobble on the very heavy steel plate stands I imagine.
A google suggested hot white vinegar, which didnt work in my case. I first scraped most off with a blunt knife blade edge. Then, some white spirit on a cloth quickly removed the thin residue. A final wipe over with some water with a little washing up liquid added and job done. Final dry cloth to finish. Literally a 5 minute job each cabinet. Rob

Yes, white spirit / turps substitute is a very useful cleaning solvent. Cheap too.

Freezer spray is supposed to work, not tried it that I can remember though.
