These sockets are 'SO239' and the male plug to fit is 'PL239', quite a common connector method on video of that period. Probably classed as a 75 ohm output impedance, ready made leads should still be available as well as the plugs themselves.

Those are PL259/SO239 connectors, sometimes called "UHF connectors" - PL259 is the plug, SO239 is the socket. You can get adapters from PL259 to BNC.

You can also get PL239 plug to phono. Search " Adapter UHF PL239 plug to phono socket."

Good luck with the Sanyo. I have one and apart from the belts, the main issue was poor resolution. Whilst not up to Sony C5 or C7 standards, if remember, adjusting non linear de emphasis VR216 "Expand" on the video board will sharpen up the edges.

A good solid machine, I still have the set of leads to enable video to video copying, PL259 plug to phono adaptors are part of the kit, also have the Din audio to phono plug leads.

Have you tried it yet?
It will probably need the belts replacing, a pretty easy job on these machines.

As you say ,an excellent machine, i have the 9300 which belonged to my brother from brand new,
Never had a single problem with it apart from a blown fuse sometime ago.
Same as the PN version i believe except the non PN version has a lot less chrome on it, unless someone can tell me another difference? maybe the timer or something?

Have only tried it with blank cassette as haven't got prerecorded ones yet seems to be running ok was trying to connect dvd player to it to try record something but not worked out how to connect up yet ( any help ? ) I've also got the wired remote that pauses player . It's certainly a heavy piece of kit .

I am pretty sure they are all identical on the inside. There's a number of different models that all look the same with minor cosmetic differences, different tuner/modulator frequencies and different operating mains voltages. These include the VTC 9300P, 9300PS, 9300PN, 9350, 9350M, 9355, 9400P, 9500, 9540. Oddly enough, there's a VTC 5200 which looks exactly the same as the 9300PN. Some models have a 24-hour clock and some others have a 12-hour (AM/PM) clock. My machine is a VTC 9350M. PAL/SECAM, 24-hour clock, shiny gold front panel and woodgrain top/sides.

Make sure the TUNER-CAMERA switch next to the input/output jacks is set to CAMERA. Then, plug the composite (RCA or SCART) output of the DVD player into the video input of the Sanyo and try making a recording. Plugging the audio in requires a DIN to RCA adapter.

To access the belts you'll have to remove the bottom cover and undo the three screws that hold the W2 (video, audio) board in place. The board is hinged. There are two flat belts for driving the capstan and head disk, and two square belts for driving the reels, all driven by the single AC motor.
