I want to build a Philips PM5644/00 G pattern generator replica from scratch with a date and time display that I have analog experience and would like to build via EPROMS or a Rasberry Pi.

But I don't know how, but I have experience in broadcasting, but I need to create a pattern generator and then make it look professional.

Looking online testcard G has the circle and the girl etc. a major task to program.

I don’t know about adding time and date but depending on how accurate you want the output to be then thinking laterally it could be done with the Pi, a camera module, LED ring light (preferably with adjustable colour) and a picture of the test card. Mount the whole lot in a frame.

A neater option with the Pi would be to obtain a 35mm negative or positive of the test card and use a film scanner or even a digital camera to put the image onto a micro SD card. The image could be tweaked in Photoshop then the card popped into the Pi.

Could you mock up a screen shot of what you are trying to achieve? Is it just to superimpose one image on another?

If you mean the PM5544 test card G, as shown part way down this page, it is simply a geometric pattern, without the inclusion of a young Carole Hersee.

Dave, just goes to show that you cannot believe everything on the internet, the site I looked at showed test card G with Carole.

I would love to have the skills to program the Phillips test card in a microprocessor but working out the circle is beyond me.

Of course the other option for sikdear would be a DVD player and the test card DVD but there’s no fun in that, and it would not include the date and time.

I want to create a pattern generator but I don't know how to do it, I need to ask for help from inaxeon.
I think it will require a file. PTV_Presentation by inaxeon in Github?
But I have a long experience in broadcasting and I'm about to give it a try.

I have seen your many emails, comments on my videos, posts in here.

I do not think cloning the PM5644 is a realistic proposition. It would be an absolute struggle even for me to pull it off not least because we do not have any engineering materials for it. Finding another PM5644 is also not particularly likely. None have come up for sale for a number of years now, and even if one did, it's not a given that it would be the type you are looking for, and almost improbable that it would contain the PM8546 option. Only one has ever turned up and I don't own it.

The only realistic way to realise what you are trying to achieve (with original equipment) is to buy a PT5210 and build the PT8631 and PT8637 options from scratch - because once again no unit containing these options has ever been publicly sold.

It will cost a lot of money, require months of research, endless patience for sourcing the parts, a stack of specialised test equipment and a lot of electronics experience. If you can convince me that you have all of the aforementioned, I am happy to help you.

But I mean I want to display the time and date with the same font as PM8546 in PM5644 test pattern, for which I need to create a new device which I need to build similar to PM5644 pattern generator.

The model in this image is used by China Central Television (CCTV), a state television station owned and controlled by the Chinese government.

But I mean I need to show the date and time like in this picture even though I understand I can't buy it but I really want it but how do I do it in Rasberry Pi or EPROMS or C language?

If you are just wanting it for show, implementing it in a Raspberry Pi sounds more sensible. But I have never owned one, know nothing about them, so can't help with that unfortunately.
