Well done.

That makes the burnt out resistor in post #30 14.3R (Brown, Yellow, Orange, Gold) and the resistor next to it 143R (Brown, Yellow, Orange, Black).

Probably I'm too late but I have this meter in original working condition, so if you still need any info please let me know!

Ciao Luca certo che sei utilissimo se il tuo ancora funziona ti prego di postare una foto del circuito dove si vedano bene le resistenze cosi risolviamo tutti!

Hi Luca sure that you are very useful, if yours still works please post a photo of the circuit, where you can see the resistances well so we can solve them all!

It would be wonderful if you posted some photos of the high resolution resistors, so anyone who has an SBC850 with this problem can solve it !! In the whole web there is nothing like it, only here is there information about it!

Luca sorry could you shoot another time the photo of this resistor in the pics that i have post? I can't understand the color of the second stripe from right or you can read the value on the board under the resistor?....and that is the resistor that i need Thank a lot

In any way i ask to the moderator of the forum, how is possible that me and luca have the same model of multimeter and some of the good resistor are different?i was good in elettronic a lot time ago.....now i don't remember any things.....

Ciao luca anche io sono italiano e sono di roma senti una cortesia dalla foto non riesco proprio a capire che colore sia il secondo colore da destra....tu ne hai idea?sotto la resistenza c'è scritto il valore riesci a leggerlo?

Hi luca also I'm Italian and I'm from Rome feel a courtesy from the photo I just can't understand what colour is the second colour from the right .... do you have any idea? Under the resistance there is written the value can you read it?

Hi Giacomo

I think the resistors in your photo in post 15, and the resistors in Luca’s recent photos are mostly the same values, but inserted on the board different ways round. This makes no difference electrically, but you need to read the colour codes from a different end.

I think the missing resistor in your photo in post 15 should be 14.3 ohms ( brown yellow orange gold). Fitting a 15 Ohm resistor should make the meter work on most ranges (assuming there are no other faults), but the 30mA range will read a bit high. Adding a 330 Ohm resistor across the 15 Ohm resistor should correct that error.

Ciao Giacomo, Stuarth is right the color band you cannot read is GOLD.

I completely agree with a parallel of 15 with 330 ohms.

Ciao luca, i want ask to you one thing, why some of the resistors on your board are different from the my resistors?i think that maybe is better that i change all the resistor like you because for example i have the series of 2 resistors that is not exactly 1,8M Ohm and maybe some one or my grandfather had change that for make some kind of modify for tuning o balancing the value of the resistance.....what do you think?

there is a possibility that if the resistor is unbroken that you can measure its value with another multimeter, yes they get charred but the value stays close to the original i have tried this myself and in most cases it has been good.

As per my knowledge, during lifecycle of production there may be different technical changes, due to improvements, shortage of components, etc.
so absolutely normal that some variation is present despite our meter shares the same pcb.

Ciao,
Luca
