How to make a proper VHS-C alignment tape
Hi at all,
is in arrive to me, for a complete restoring a ITT P8344 VHS-C portable VTR. A OEM of the most famous JVC HR-C3. I have no VHS-C tapes with me, but i have a many, fully serviced VHS VTR to make a copy (if possible). How to make a VHS-C test tape? Is possible to make a recording from a VHS-C adapter? No problem for pattern or monoscope generator, i have one. Thanks at all, Libratron |

Re: How to make a proper VHS-C alignment tape
Have you tried:
1. using a known good VHS-C camera recording? 2. buying a commercial VHS alignment tape and loading the tape into a VHS-C cassette? I believe the VHS-C camera recorded the video signal in a different way to VHS. Maybe it used a single video record head. Someone here will know. |

Re: How to make a proper VHS-C alignment tape
Hi timtape,
to find today a copy of the JVC MH-C2 is just hard. I don't have any type of VHS-C camera with me. I discovery is possible from a normal VHS VTR, recording with vhs-c adapter. Thanks, Libratron |

Re: How to make a proper VHS-C alignment tape
Wouldn't it be possible to make a reference tape using one of those VHS-C to VHS cassette adapters and recording the tape on a known-good machine?

Re: How to make a proper VHS-C alignment tape
There seem to be quite a lot of full size JVC and Panasonic S-VHS recorders around.
Used with an adaptor this would be the most flexible solution. |

Test tapes are 'laboratory produced' on reference machines. You're never going to be able to make your own to that standard.

Thank at all.
The recording with adapter on a proper VHS VTR is the better solution. Thanks. Libratron |
