Sony KV14-T1U - Red flash and then cuts out
Hi. I've got a Sony KV14-T1U. It's a nice little screen but I think it's going to die on me. Very often the screen will scramble with a red flash and then cut out, the power led will start flashing.
I also notice it's really prone to blooming. Anyone know what I'm up against? |

Low cathode driver supply voltage (duff electrolytic), low G2 voltage, defective tube to name a few possibilities that come to mind.

These were prone to h\k shorts. Sorry to be short and brief but it's a possibility.

Could be but it's certainly worth checking the output transistors on the CRT base for dry joints.

Thanks for the replies. I'm competent with a soldering iron and I can handle the safety aspects so I can at least check for dry joints and failing caps. Anything beyond that is above my pay grade.
