Manufacturer Panasonic. Model from around the turn of the century.

On the head drum, my best guess is: 4 video heads, 2 audio heads and a flying erase head.

Well, from that angle, I can only see the erase and audio / control heads .....

Yes its a panasonic NV-SJ410 4head twin speed.

Possibly the most compact circuitry and mechanism out of all my vcrs. Got it on Saturday down at the charity shop. The super drive rewind and ff speeds are quite impressive (60secs).

I'm a bit late but yes, was going to say it looks like Panasonic Z mech. I have a couple, NV-FJ630 and FJ760. Fastest rewinding machine I've seen. The mechanism feels a bit flimsy though. It's funny comparing them to the older models, there's nothing inside. Does it have the tape library? The 760 has it and EP speed. The tape library becomes more of a pain than anything else really as you have to press stop as soon as you put the tape in if you don't want it to start searching the tape for the index marks. Pretty good picture though even in EP mode.

Reading that about the library I'm pleased to say it does not lol. Just sp and lp on this one.

The chassis is what makes the mechanism a. It more robust. Without it I'm sure it would fall to bits.

Not sure why they had to make it full size tho, surely mid sized like my jvc or the older Panasonic nvL25
