Dixon of Dock Green
I wonder if anyone could help me
I'm trying to locate an old Black and White 'Dixon of Dock Green' episode Sadly I don't know the name of the episode Basically there are a lot of burglaries going on George Dixon goes to visit a colleague and finds it is his Policeman colleague who's doing the burglaries when he finds all the 'loot' in his house George tells him to take his tunic off 'TAKE IT OFF' George shouts 'Go upstairs and get changed, then I'll arrest you, there's nothing worse than a bent copper' The episode has been shown many times but I can't remember what it's called Please can anyone help Cheers Sharon |

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
An episode-list is hereL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...Green_episodes
You say your episode has been shown many times, but most of the DoDG episodes are listed as 'missing', which should help you narrow things down a lot! [I was never enamoured of DoDG, much preferring "The Sweeney", "Target", "The Professionals" etc]. |

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
This episode has been reshown several times and ISTR that the bad copper was played by Paul Eddington.
You might be able to find the title by searching on imdb.

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
Amazon sell box sets of Dixon of Dock green but you would have to find out which series number its in to get the right DVD.

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
The BFI British Film Institute has a copy on VHS.
They can arrange for some way for you to view it by appointment ...or perhaps a subscription to their services will enable you can view it online? |

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
Evening all !
DoDG in its day was a really good series. I used to watch it with mum & dad on a Bush TV22 in glorious black & white(ish) with a magnifier on the front. Nostalgic days . Modern police programmes would put it in the shade but life was different then. |

Note that it's just footage recorded off a PC screen using a handheld device(!) but better than nothing I suppose. |

As it happens I do remember the episode, particularly the ire in Sgt Dixons voice in the monologue preamble. (Good evening all). Here's Jack Warner playing another policeman (Typecast? Heavens no). It's quite shocking, perhaps this should have a child lock. The "Glass of Cold Water" trick appears to be standard treatment for hysterics, I speak from experience, In 1962, the very year "Jigsaw" was made, the head mistress at the boarding school I attended used it on me. https://youtu.be/F3HE1-bc-_g

Re: Dixon of Dock Green
Indeed it is "The rotten apple"
Ive got that one on DVD, not sure where i got it, not a bad copy either. Dixon arrests the crook they suspect originally and asks the bus driver to drop them off at the police stastion "you mean you come by bus"? The policeman in the end is Paul Eddington
