Re: Mitsubishi DT-640 Cassette deck
Looking at the limited pictures I can find on the web I would say you have to at least loosen (to give a mm or so space) that rear plate the motor is mounted on. Occasionally there is a enough movement possible of the capstan flywheel to allow the belt to be passed between the rear bearing and the capstan shaft.
I doubt you will find a belt size measurement anywhere, you are going to have to remove it and knock perhaps 3 or 4 mm off what you measure. |

Re: Mitsubishi DT-640 Cassette deck
Personally, I would remove the fascia and then the deck from the chassis.
You might be able to do it in-situ, but taking the whole thing out will give you much better access, as well as a chance to clean anything that needs cleaning too. "Nice" manufacturers (Technics, Sony) made everything unpluggable. Others weren't always so kind, and so even simple jobs like this can be offputting! |
