Default JVC HR-D910EK running slow

Hi there
I have one of these machines off someone off the forum but its running slow.
I have seem comments on these about an smd cap being a bit dodgy on the head amp board
Is this a sort of fix that could be done someone who is adept with a soldering iron or is it best left to a repairer who specialises in these.
If anyone is able to guide me through this and also how to check that it is actually the smd cap that would be greatly appreciated

The SM cap (3.3 uF) you are talking about is actually on the lower drum/drive board, it doesn't cause the machine to run slow, what it does when faulty is obliterate a band of about half the picture with noise, and this band varies randomly in its position each time play is stopped and started again, hope this helps.

Edit: when this cap is faulty as above usually warming it up temporarily clears the fault until it cools down again, obviously if you replace it this fixes the fault I mentioned.
