Default New York Taxis. PMR Frequencies?

Has any Forum member any knowledge of what Radio frequency would have been used for communication by New York Taxi cabs in the late 50's early 60's ?

I heard during a hot summer around that time it was possible to get a breakthrough of of New York taxi radios on TVs over here. I presume it was the transmissions from the taxi offices rather than from the cabs themselves that could propagate that far.

https://ukspec.tripod.com/spectrum.html#b47 This mostly has UK frequency allocations, but mentions some from other countries.

Thanks for the replies.
The reason for the enquiry was that my late Farther who was an occasional SWL, claimed he once received Radio Transmissions from New York Taxis on a pre war PYE Radio we had at home in the late 50`s early 60`s.
With the help of other Forum Members, I have identified this Radio as a PYE Model 906 International, that had Short Wave Bands tuning down to below 13 Meters. So if as listed, the Taxi`s were using Frequencies or around 29 to 31 Mhz at the time, and we were then in the peak of a 11 year Sun Spot cycle, it could well be true.

Heard the New York police one summer in Corfe Castle, around 1963. Came in clearly on an 88 set. (around 38 Mc/s).

More proof it was likely, then.
