Default Removal of Grundig TK Recorder (s) Carrying Handle/Strap

Have been trying to remove the carrying straps on some of my Grundig TK 23 recorders for cleaning but struggling to remove them.

I remember a Thread on this quite some time ago but cannot find it.

Does anybody remember it or know the technique for removing the metal piece that must cover the heads of the fixing screws.

I think that you will find if you carefully lever up the "chrome" cover at the opposite end to the strap it will snap off revealing the two screws that secure the strap bracket.

Thank you John, I have tried gentle persuasion, probably need to try harder.

After quite some effort managed to remove the parts. Impossible to knock the metal cover up or down but as John advised the cover could be snapped up by levering from opposite end of strap.

But I found it really hard, virtually no space under the cover to get anything strong enough in place (i.e. small watchmakers no good) to lever up, had to be careful also not to damage the fairly delicate perforated cabinet covering.
