It's on the BVWS website too https://www.bvws.org.uk/events/diary.php. It's booked and planned to go ahead, unless any restrictions at the time make it non-viable.

The calendar here on the forum isn't definitive, it's just as and when we think to add things.

Hi Peter

Yes, all planned for 5th December..

I do know that the organiser had a few days off from duties he was unwell (not Covid!) and has been working hard to prepare and launch the BVWS online auction.

I'm sure he'll attend to your stall application as soon as he gets a chance....

Look forward to seeing you there...

If memory serves, tickets etc are sent out a week before the event - don't panic until then!

Hello Peter,

You sent in for two members tickets.

I have received your booking form but as it says on the form, I do not send out the tickets until 7 days before the event.

As far as I am concerned, the event is going ahead unless we get any government restrictions on social distancing that makes it impossible to comply.

Thanks for the clarification Mike, my fault, I did not notice the bit about tickets sent out 7 days before the event.
Although how I missed it I don't know, just looked at the form again and its there in large bold letters.
Time for new glasses perhaps?

Hello Everyone,

I can confirm that I have spoken with the Royal Wootton Bassett town Council and they have put no restrictions on my use of the Hall so the event is FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!

I will be sending out the tickets to those who have booked tomorrow so they will hit your letter boxes early next week.

You do not have to book tickets, you can just turn up on the day and pay at the door as always.

Stallholders entry for setup: 9:00 am

General Visitor entry: 9:30 am

The event is open to BVWS members AND non-members, but you must be a paid up member to transact in the auction.

The auction will start at 12:30 and there are some really nice items in this one (I have been saving them up for you !!!)

The auction catalogue and pictures will appear on the BVWS website sometime next week as I am still photographing the items now (and it is so cold outside where I need the light).

In the interests of COVID-19 safety for everyone, I will be supplying face masks and hand sanitizer at the front entrance and I would politely ask that people use them when moving around the hall as it can get quite crowded. It is entirely your choice and your decision to use or not use a face mask and that will be respected.
The ventilation in the hall will be arranged so that air can flow through doors and windows. However once everyone is seated for the auction we will be able to close the doors.

Hot food and drinks will be available throughout the day.

The entrance fee is £8.00 per person and exact money on the door would be very helpful.

Mince pies will still be at the entrance. Well it is the tradition!!!

At the moment I have just one table left in the main hall. After that it will be bring your own table and set up a pitch in the annex.

The Bring & Buy table will be in operation as usual taking a 10% commission for The British Vintage Wireless & Television museum so please support it.

I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Mike...

Hello Everyone,

Further to my previous post:

'In the interests of COVID-19 safety for everyone, I will be supplying face masks and hand sanitizer at the front entrance and I would politely ask that people use them'

This is now a mandatory requirement unless you have exemption and clearly show your lanyard or alternatively you use a clear plastic face visor.

I have updated the BVWS website and Facebook posts accordingly.

Please understand that this is UK Government rules not a BVWS rule.

Facebook? I keep finding organisations have Facebook pages that have information main sites don't have. Is this something we should know and access?
Thanks Paul, all your and Mike's efforts much appreciated!

This is the BVWS Facebook page but it doesn't give any more information than the website. The Facebook button on the BVWS website links to their page too.

https://www.facebook.com/BritishVintageWirelessSociety

The information in this forum section covers everything you need, and if anything is probably the first place to get updates (before website or Facebook).

I hope to attend but will not be able to purchase much due to a storage/space crisis at home which I am trying to sort or find some sort of solution.
But I am looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

Jeremy (Pamphonica) and I will be there with a Landrover full of donated equipment to sell for the MCR21 restoration project. Bargains for all!

We will also have video and poster display about MCR21 and some of the programs it covered, like the Oxford & Cambridge boat race. This will be in the side room, opposite the bring & buy area.

Must get back to packing the Landrover up to the roof line!!

Well it was great to be back at an event even if the numbers were down a little.

Nice to see old friends and thank you to all those who supported the Bring and Buy.

Now looking forward to the first event of 2022

Cheers
