BBC Outside Broadcast van, MCR21 on public display at Amberley Museum
The title says it all in a nutshell, but this reminder is for our many supporters.
All being well, MCR21 will arrive on site at Amberley on Monday the 4th July and will park up and we will start the rig on the 5th. We will have the rare Pye MK6 camera on display together with a working Pye Mk7 camera, MCR21 will be open for inspection. Amberley is open 10 till 4.30 Weds to Sunday both weeks and we will partially derig late on the 17th and finish on the 18th and MCR21 will travel onwards on a low loader. The show at Amberley is the principle culmination show for the HLF funding. On the second weekend we will have the BATC with us and we are going to uplink to the QO100 geostationary satellite which covers about a 1/3 of the world using a G5xBBC call sign. We have the use of “the Barn" for our displays and MCR21 will be parked adjacent. https://www.amberleymuseum.co.uk/wha...sits-amberley/ Our HLF grant closes on the 31 July and then we will be on our own. Still much to do. You are MOST welcome to come and visit. Due to getting ready, much still to do, I will not be monitoring this thread, but perhaps Pamphonica will respond. And look out for a special appearance of MCR21 outside Wimbledon Centre Court tomorrow, before she goes off to Amberley! We may get a bit on the 30-minute lunchtime compendium program. Fingers crossed...

Re: BBC Outside Broadcast van, MCR21 on public display at Amberley Museum
Saw the One Show. It's a great artefact as it need not be allocated to a specific museum, it can go on tour as and when convenient.... it's effectively it's own museum.
Unfortunately neither I nor Dad were able to help the team with any of the little outstanding period odds and sods they required to restore to original spec! Dave |
