Hi Matt,
you've mastered the craft of French polishing. Absolutely superb. Better than the factory finish. When one considers this was a very reasonably priced set, the cabinet detailing is excellent. DFWB. |

Great work Matt. When new These Sobell receivers were very much underrated but were very well designed and constructed. John.

Re: Sobell T90 (1949) 9" table set
Many thanks for your kind words Gentleman. The cabinet is indeed looking quite resplendant now. For what would have been a budget set of the time (£57) the construction and use of veneer is quite remarkable.
I'm just finishing off a final bit of capacitor re-stuffing and the two can then go back together! Mark - happy to accept commissions on any cabinet work! I'll unveil the old girl soon! |

Re: Sobell T90 (1949) 9" table set
Hi Matt,
Great stuff as ever. I love these little Sobell sets. I second what Mark asked. I have several sets which need the cabinets seen to. I never got the hang of it myself. How do you fancy taking on my scratched up PYE B18T?? Cheers Andy

Cracking results Matt.
The cabinet looks brand new. Fancy making the cabinet from my 2807 as good as yours?

Exciting news!
The Sobell T90 is now completed, back in her box and performing beautifully! Here's a few final pics and even a link to a slideshow for those who have been following this little beauty. Big thanks again to John, Adrian and Steve for assisting me with valves and circuit diagrams! Best regards to all https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3I5DRHqvec |

Hi to all,
Hi Matspar, Beautiful result, Congratulations! Outstanding video & great music track from the album "Breakfast in America". Did you keep the Selenium rectifier for looks & hide Silicon diodes under the chassis ? Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |

Really great result Matt. Reminds me of the fun I had with a 1947 Vidor 369A. That was a good while back. Regards, John.
