Picture 1 is a 270R 5% 0.3A high wattage "Polo Mint" resistor. It'll only need replacing if it's open circuit.

47nF is 0.047uF so you can use it to replace 0.05uF.

See here:-

As I said no need to replace it if it tests OK.

We had decent stocks of them both in the service van spares kit and in the workshop, we called them a bunch of grapes if there was more than one on an old mains dropper as we would often find in a TV.

270R at 0.3A is near enough 25 Watts.

Something like this could be used to replace it.

The use of an RS resistor suggests it's a repair though. You may be able to find something closer to the original value. It's wired across R16 the dropper resistor.

Ok thanks for that Graham this why I couldn't find it on the schematic then the yellow capacitor is for c29 so I'm not sure if yellow one would be ok because it's on the mains I think

C29 is connected across the mains supply, so needs to be a Class X component. X is a cross (across).

Just snip it our for now though.

That's R19 in the Trader sheet snippet shown. (R16B in the manufacturer's version).

You might want to consider converting it to a capacitive or diode dropper given that the dropper's in a bit of a state.

That should be 200 Ohms then.

Mark I have 2 100 ohms sections in series you could mount on the chassis and I am in

Welwyn Garden City.

I will PM you.

I think there may be a mistake on the circuit diagram, The scale lamp 110-120v ?

Do you mean in the Trader sheet? If so then that looks like a voltage selection position to me.

Lawrence.

When you say quiet do you mean silent?

First thing to check is the HT at the reservoir cap. Manufacturers sheet says to expect 182 VDC.
