Marconiphone Radio
Good Evening All
Just thought I'd share some pictures of a MARCONIPHONE Radio given to me by a relative 15+ years ago, I have only just finally dug it out to enable myself to post a few pictures on here. MODEL 4174 2942 (Prior to me creating this thread, I was aware after doing a search somebody else has posted a thread previously on this model) |

Re: Marconiphone Radio
I wonder if the circuit board was made for a vhf version as well. Mick.

Re: Marconiphone Radio
If it is not working or draining the battery fast, then suspect those "Callins" electrolytic capacitors.
They are famous for being leaky, in fact I have often seen them where the plastic covers have actually popped off. Mike |

Re: Marconiphone Radio
Interesting I see on the AM one the vhf switch is used for the on off , I guess the on off switch must be on the vol/ tone control .on the vhf one . Mick.

Indeed it is. It's marked as S4 in the model 6175 diagrams. Information for the AM only Marconi 4174 and Ultra 6174 can be found in the 1972/73 Radio and television servicing book. DFWB. |

Re: Marconiphone Radio
The PCB is equipped for a fourth push switch, as is the cabinet.
