Default What's this?

Anyone identify this Ultra radio?

Neighbour had it in his loft for 50+ years, it's a bit messy and the dial is broken (appears to be plastic, not glass). Can't decide whether it's worth restoring.

It is unusual with its chassis up in the air like that. Is there a reason it is designed that way?

There's one for free on FB marketplace (Colwyn bay) if you need a new dial (no affiliation with seller)

Not really if a battery model was made using the same case/hardware.
