Default Lernakit Oscilloscope Build Instructions

Its been a while since I was on here, house move, builders etc. A while back there was a thread regarding the British National Radio School Lernakit Scope and I was wondering if anybody managed to find a copy of the build instructions and component list. I have all the other paperwork but not the build stuff. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Hi!

I have the instructions for the B.N.R.E.S. Mk. 2 Transistor Version Oscilloscope and will get them scanned over the next week, but I've never seen anything for the two valve Mk. 1 version.

One or two odd members have said a long time ago that they have the Valve Oscilloscope Assembly instructions but nobody's ever come back with them, and I have never seen them myself!

If I read this thread correctly: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?p=495894 user Bumblebee has the manuals/instructions for the two valve edition.

I have a copy of the early 2 valve version notes (possibly factory produced) its got internal unit sketches along with semi coloured circuit diagrams and a breakdown discussion of how it works.

Unfortunately its on legal size paper and my first scan hasn't captured it all so I'll try later and post it on here as pdf for anyone who wants it

Hi!

B.N.R.E.S. "Learnakit" Mk. 2 Transistorised Oscilloscope Assembly Notes, first five parts covering Steps 1 to Steps 3!

I used the high-speed ADF scanner at work so unfortunately all the blank pages had to be included as well - these can be deleted with one of the free Online PDF Utilities if not required!

PS!

As I had only a few minutes spare there wasn't time to rename all the attachments I'm afraid!

PPS!

Please note that these are duplicated materials as originally supplied by the B.N.R.E.S. and it's inevitable some of it is going to be a bit furry in places!

Anything that's really too unclear I will redraught on request by PM or message here, as my spare-time permits!

Hi!

As the numbers on the Terminal Pin Plan for the Component Board, Fig. 2 in Step 1 are very small and furry, a new plan diagram is being draughted as well and wil be uploaded when complete!

Hi!

Member "Bear2Biker" Paul B has loaned me the Mk. 1 Valve "Learnakit" book to scan, however it's isn't unfortunately a complete one – the Theory Of Operations is all complete, pages 1 to 50 plus the circuit diagram and about 16 of the assembly diagrams covering steps 3 to 8 but none of the Constructional Steps Text is included, so if any other Members have the complete info, please could they dig it out please?

It's very difficult to try and write the missing instructions for Steps 1 and 2 and whatever Steps follow on from Step 9 as I didn't receive Figs. 1 to 6 of the Assembly Instructions or what follows after Fig. 28.

I will get this material scanned and returned to the Member concerned as promptly as I can!

Hi!

Update on this project – unfortunately I got sent home sick from work due to eyesight problems (not my decision – it was taken by my manager and HR!) between Paul B putting the book in the post and me receiving it, so I no longer have access to the high speed A3 machine at work, and trying to scan the sheets by hand on my ET–4500 all–in–one has proved a totally fruitless exercise !

However I have now completed taking pictures of all the book and will upload it as soon as I can get it distilled into pdf

I'm afraid Paul's book wasn't all complete – there was no assembly text and several of the assembly diagrams weren't there – but I will post what I have!

The book has now been posted back to Paul B.

Please, if any of the other Members who have this info, or obtained CDs of this Learnakit Mk. 1 Valve oscilloscope kit from alternative Members, can they get in touch with me by PM please or post here, even if only to say what they have?

Both Paul B (BearToBiker) and myself are trying to get the rest of this information!

Chris Williams

PS!

All the text and drawings are clear and readable, but I don't know why the background has come out uneven – I'm not skilled enough with image–editors to sort it out the way Denis (member "Pinorkel') can!

I am only sorry I can't offer anything additional to these or better – I haven't got an A3 scanner!
