My Roku device is about 6 years old. It works on i-player, but doesn't offer the option to watch a live TV program from the start, IE when you've you've missed the beginning. It used to do this until about 2 years ago. We discussed this on the forum a while back in a thread I started , I think.

It was frustrating not to be able to re-start a programme, especially when the +1 service is only available as SD.

Talk Talk provide this now for BBC programmes with their TV bundle. I'm sure the other providers are doing the same.

I can also do this with Channel 4 news using my laptop. Haven't tried other platforms or broadcast companies.

Yes, as you indicate Paul [post 20* thanks] although I don't claim to understand the technology, I recognise a disingenuous response when I see it. An individual or a corporate entity either keeps it's word or it doesn't and I've dealt with both
