Re: Pye P76F
Hi, the PU connection was normally fed from a quite high output pickup. I would have thought a bluetooth device should have enough output to drive it, but on one set I found I had to use a small 4:1 step up transformer to get good volume. Give it a try and see what it sounds like.
If there is a radio/ gram switch that may have oxidised contacts so worth giving it a good clean Ed |

Re: Pye P76F
Yes, I fitted a Bluetooth module to a P76F. I just bought a cheap generic unit from eBay. I powered it via a seperate transformer to avoid interference (and it needs to a proper transformer rather than a switch mode power supply!). It works very well, the P76 is a lovely sounding set.

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend a transformer?

Re: Pye P76F
Hi any small transformer of about 3 or 4 to 1 ratio should do, it only needs to be small.
RS used to do small intervalve transformers like this. I posted an earlier thread on this about 2 or 3 weeks ago. If you are out towards Newcastle I may be able to find you one if you PM me Ed |
