Philips G8 Magnetic shield - what paint?
Hi Guys
I have a philips G8 with a slightly rusty magnetic shield cone over the back of the tube. I have rubbed off all the surface rust inside and out with wet 'n' dry and its now as smooth as a baby's bum. As it was matt black, i want to get it matt black again, do i need to use conductive paint, or will any matt black paint be ok ? Just thought i would check before going blindly ahead. Many thanks, Mike |

Re: Philips G8 Magnetic shield
Hi, you do not need conductive paint. Just make sure that you do not paint any copper earthing strips that connect the degausing shield to the coating on the CRT bowl. Malc.

Re: Philips G8 Magnetic shield
Hi Mike, looks like a neat paint job to me. Shame no one will see it when the back is on!
