Re: Armour Research Foundation and Truvox Link
After never seeing these labels before until the two Truvox, today have seen another one on a Collaro Mk. 4 Transcriptor tape deck.

Re: Armour Research Foundation and Truvox Link
Marconi's radio "patent" seems to be the box hiding all the stuff published before. SHMBO works in pharma* and hates patents and said that the corona thing really shows what can be done with cooperation.

Re: Armour Research Foundation and Truvox Link
I can understand Armour Research trying it on, and hoping that smaller manufacturers would find it easier to pay a bit rather than face the prospect of defending an IP case and the legal costs this would involve.
Various of the well-known radio-manufactirers [hello, Marconi!] tried similar things prior to WWII. This in turn led on to 'patent pools' and the little white plastic labels showing that the manifacturers of a radio which incorporated technologies like AGC had paid fheir dues. [One of my relatives was distantly connected to Hazeltine Corporation, who via 'Hazelpat; held a lot of IP in the 1930s. They even went up against RCA - and won!] |

Re: Armour Research Foundation and Truvox Link
To understand how strong a statement this is, read up on Capt Edwin Armstrong and David Sarnoff. Sarnoff ran RCA and drove Armstrong to suicide over some patents.
Yes, that Armstrong. Inventor of the superhet and of FM. David
