G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
I have in for repair a GUS 200 Radio Gram just wondering if anyone might know which Alba radio it might be similar to as I'm trying to find a schematic.
Simple fault really, just has a bad hum / buzz mainly on the Gram I have been told that these where made for a catalogue company in the 50's but that's all I know. |

Re: G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
Photos of the chassis and valve line up may help.

Re: G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
Thanks I did know about the live chassis, I have been running it through an isolation transformer.
I have added a few photos of the chassis the valves are listed below UY85, UCL82, UBF89, UCH81 The hum is only really associated with the Gram setting, the radio otherwise is not to bad. It would be useful to have a schematic to go through the complete unit. Last edited by lovetone; 19th Aug 2022 at 11:18 am. |

Re: G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
If you can’t find the exact circuit, have a look at other sets with the same valve line up. It’s a very standard line up and circuits will not be very different.

Re: G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
The sight of those several lengths of shielded cable suggests that someone before you also experienced a hum problem. Maybe it was the original manufacturer.

Re: G.U.S 200 Radio Gram
Treat it like you would a UCL82/UY85 basic record player and trace the circuit and AF signal grounding from the cartridge to the speaker.
