Yes well done on the repair, you can get used to the old sets without any PCB, a nice small pair of side cutters and long nose pliers can really help at replacing components.

There can be a lot of satisfaction keeping something from the 1940's & 1950's going again, I have another two, (I think) portables in the garage to be looked at from that era.
