Default Pilot Clipper

Hi All,

I am a total new comer to the work of vintage radio. I recently acquired a Pilot Clipper and want to know what year this may have been manufactured.

Regards
Hein

Looking at the types of valves used I would say c.1949. Edward

Are you sure this is a Clipper? it looks to me much more like the Navigator. If so, late 1940s to early 1950s.

The valve lineup is a 5Y3 full wave rectifier, 2 x 6BA6 pentodes, 6BE6 converter, 6AV6 double-diode triode and 6AQ5 power output.
If anyone has an idea of a schematic that would be great.

If you don't have any luck, the schematic for the Pilot Navigator might be worth looking at, in the one I have a copy of the valve line up is:

6BE6, 6BA6, 6BE6, 6AT6, 6AQ5, 6X5GT and tuning indicator Y61.

Lawrence.

Thanks Lawrence. I found this site: https://www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/courtenay/166
It looks like the schematic here is suitable.
Both sets were obviously bound for the colonies, so there must be some synergy!

Hi All,

And a big thank you to Paul for bringing my PILOT back to life. I am super exited to continue with the restoration. I am now going to work on the cabinet. I do however require some assistance. As I understand it the unit was called a tbale top?. It had incorporated a turn table. Can any one advise as to how the wiring is connected for the turntable. See attached photos of the motor and what looks like a selector switch.
