Default Re: "Battery Manager" for a Li ion Battery

Just had another thought for Bazz, there are 12v lithium motorbike batteries available, these are not the cheapest thing on the planet but are designed to work on any alternator/12v charger, I have come across one in my time and can confirm that they weigh next to nothing and fling at least 500CC engines without a problem.
Maybe the above might solve things, alternatively, Bazz might fancy the challenge aspect of concocting something, either way, it's up to him.

Using separate 18650 cells has the advantage that you can remove, examine and charge each cell individually if there are problems. Often a single cell will fail, with the rest being fine (that's why it's always worth cracking open dead laptop batteries). Single cell USB charge controller modules are available for pennies.

Goods Inwards department say the 3 off 18650 cells are already here, and Production dept have already cut some copper-clad board to securely mount them on, leaving them easy to check and remove if necessary. I guess that another 4-5 weeks should see everything complete!
