Default Stella Transistor NOT an ST405. (Identified as an ST405T)

Hello,
I don’t usually do transistors but I bought this because my grandfather had one and I was allowed to use it when I stayed.
Externally it looks exactly like the ST405 on Rmorg but the IF board and Transistor line up are different.
OC44,45,45,75,74,74

There’s nothing with the same line up on the site.

I should probably be grateful it doesn’t have the AF117s but does anyone know the model number or if it’s likely to be earlier or later then the AF117 version dated 1964?

Thanks for reading.

John

It will be earlier than the AF11x version. Philips used a very similar chassis in many of their early 60s transistor sets.

Thanks Paul, I expect it’s around 1963 same vintage as me.

It is a ST405. Manual Here.
It's the ST405/01 that uses AF1xx transistors.

Regards,

Tony

Yes. The transistor line up in the manufacturer's sheet matches that given by the OP in post #1.

Thanks Tony, I thought I’d looked at them all, the ERT service chart for the ST05T has the the AF117s but as you’ve spotted the Manufacturer’s sheet has the OCs the same same as mine.

Just need to get it working now.

Just an update;

Finally found time to finish this radio. Transistor sets are not my usual thing but this model has special memories for me.

There were some faults but just down to connector errors and dirty switches.

It’s cleaned up well and perhaps not surprisingly works really well too.

As you say John not surprisingly that it works well ,I have repaired many Philips radios and amplifiers ,they all seem to work better than they should , Mick.
