Apparently it's the longest 3-digit A road in the UK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A361_road. I fear we're drifting OT though ...

Indeed we are drifting. We've established where the A361 is, so can we now try to identify the mast.

Guys,
There is a large set of poles and lattice poles just to the north of the road that goes from Dunchurch to the motorway junction at DIRFT on the M1. I go past this reguarly and have often wondered what they're for.

It is, I think, just a bit south of the old Rugby site.

Try looking at 52.356666,-1.184056 on Google Maps. You can see the posts laid out in three pointed grids (poor explanation) just south of what I think is the old Rugby station building.

In fact looking closer the three pointed grids are concrete bases of, I reckon, the old LF towers and if you look amongst them you can see the shadows of the poles on the grass.
