Velleman K7000 3D Printed Enclosure
Hi all,
Just thought I'd share this enclosure I made up for the Velleman K7000 signal tracer kit. It's a very simple print with few supports needed. Here are a couple of pics of the enclosure along with the link to the STL files HERE. |

Very impressed!
Knowing nothing about the printing, may I just ask how long it takes to produce the enclosure?

Re: Velleman K7000 3D Printed Enclosure
Thanks! It took approx. 12 hours to print. This could be brought down quite a bit though (about 7-8 hours) by adjusting the wall thickness and the amount of infill used.
You have solid walls (inside and outside). The void in between is fillled with a honeycomb structure (infill), the density of which can be changed accordingly. |

Re: Velleman K7000 3D Printed Enclosure
Innovative design and impressive implementation - well done!
Given that it takes at best 7-8 hours to produce we can safely assume that you won't be offering this as a service to Forum Members? I also know next to nothing about 3D printers but note that you have shared the STL files - I must find out more about these? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STL_(file_format) I'm aware that some Forum Members are 3D printing radio knobs and other items so don't know if there is scope for a Library of similar STL files? Where did you source the speaker?

Re: Velleman K7000 3D Printed Enclosure
Thanks for that. I think having a repository of STL's is a great Idea. I have designed and printed plenty of parts for radios and record players that I've restored over the years.
I got the speaker from HERE, along with the kit. I would also be happy to help anyone that needs their part 3d modeled. I would only need pictures and measurements depending on the complexity of the part. |
