Default Murphy A50 finished at last.

This Murphy has been on the waiting to finish list for about ten years the dial drum was distorted, dial cover with station names missing ,then a bit of luck I was offered a complete set as a donor the cabinet was scrap ,thank's Chris also a big thank's to Jerry for supplying the speaker cloth ,the rubber trim along the bottom and top it was a mucky white originally but I prefer the brown finish. I used edging strip used for sealing around shower's etc.
It's a pity about the mirror finish this is the best out of the two, it looks like the glue used to fix a paper backing has had a reaction with the silvering ,causing the dark patches, the chassis was completely restored some ten years ago, I must say the performance is very good , excellent audio quality. Mick.

That is a really fine restoration indeed, I have one of these but not as smart as yours. I would be interested in obtaining some of this speaker cloth, it looks very close to the original, does "Jerry" have anymore?
I too had to replace the rubber trim and decided on a darker colour as well, fantastic sounding radio, nice to see another one!
