Default What VCRs do you have?

Hello guys. I'm interested in learning about your VCRs. Any format, any brand, any age! I only have VHS and Beta and here's what I have in my collection so far:

VHS:

1986 National Panasonic NV-G10EM (Not working, power problem)
1992 Panasonic NV-FS200EG (Working, my main VHS/S-VHS machine)

Betamax:
1978-79 Sanyo VTC 9350M (2x, one working and one for parts)
1980 Fisher VBS 9000 (Working, clone of Sanyo VTC 5600P)
1981 Fisher VBR 330 (Working portable with camera. Clone of Sanyo VPR 5800. Tuner is missing)
1981 Sanyo VTC 5350 (Working)
1982 Sanyo VTC 5000 (Working but unable to set the clock)
1983 Sony SL-T30ME (Working but a little worn audio/control head)

At home, a Ferguson FV39S S-VHS machine bought in 1989 and a Samsung SV-5000W which can function as a standards converter. Does PAL625/50 to NTSC525/60 and vice-versa. The Samsung was bought in 2002.

Is the Ferguson S-VHS a clone of the JVC HR-S8000?

Still have x2 Philips VR813 S-VHS machines, and one VR712 standard VHS. All three use the same version Panasonic G-Deck mechanism (minus the cue/ review motor).

I scrapped a K-deck Panasonic but I don't have the motor. If I had it, I would give it to you

I know what you mean. The G2 deck with the extra motor for reverse search. My FS200 is one of these.

I can't remember the model type of the similar specification JVC S-VHS machine. But perhaps HR-S8000 could be the one.

That's okay thank you. I can find one easily enough, I'm just too lazy to get around to fitting it.

I don`t have much nowadays but still have a few. I only have one VHS now (the model number escapes me) but it`s 20 years old, a multistandard system and works well. It`s in regular use.

Betamax wise I have 2 NEC PVC740`s which are very similar to the Sony C5, they use many of the same electronics, and the deck is the same with the addition of a separate reel motor and threading motor. These machines are infinitely more reliable than the Sony`s and never suffer from the servo wobbles etc.

Also I have a Sony C7 and a Sony T9, both work well.

I used to have many more but thinned the collection out and just kept my favourites

Let me correct some dates The HF100 is from 1984. The C30 is from 1983 and the C9 is from 1982. The NV-2000 is from 1981, the NV-777 is from 1982 and the 788 is from 1983. You can find the manufacture dates on Panasonic VCRs from the serial number on the back.

Panasonic serial numbers:

letter = month (A through L)
number = last digit of year
2 letters = factory
remaining numbers = incremental part

@stevehertz: VR2351? What kind of machine is that? A variation on the VR2350?

Correct! My NV-7500 starts with A3 so it was made in January 1983
