Default What make/model is this TV?

I'm not interested in the modern television in this article, its the set with the legs in the photo that I'm curious about. Has anyone seen one of these before?

I think it is probably a Ferguson 317T which is c1958. It was an up-market 21" set with VHF/FM radio fitted and an up-market specification that included flywheel sync.

I owned an HMV 1867 (before I mutilated it to make a 625/UHF set on the old chassis ) which used the same chassis in a long cabinet.

I would have thought American, possibly Sylvania or RCA. Similar to Sylvania 526m "Halolight"
John.

Just seen Colin's post so I could be wrong.

If it's a Philips publicity photo, probably done in Eindhoven, might it not be one of theirs, and a Euro model we never saw in the UK? As to the date I certainly agree it looks very late 1950s.

As the promotion is for a Philips television I would have thought the receiver would be a Continental Philips. The display shows the back of one model and that is definitely Philips. No British receivers there and it's not a Ferguson 315T series but I can see the likeness. John.

I thought it might've been a Philips type.

Just looked on here,
http://frank.pocnet.net/instruments/...s/17CX121U.jpg

Would it possible to use it in the UK?

No, cannot normally be used in the UK.
The 17CX121 is 625 lines VHF; sound-to-vision is 5.5 MHz.
