Default Re: What VCRs do you have?

I'm not a collector so I just have the one which is still in fairly regular use - a JVC HR-J665 NICAM VHS machine.

I purchased it new; the copyright date on the manual is 1999 so it must have been then or the year after. It still works very well, probably helped because it has had a fairly easy life and been looked after.

It is mainly used for digitising VHS tapes for family and friends now, but I also have a selection of prerecorded tapes (live concerts etc) which were never released on DVD that I prefer to watch direct from VHS than from a digitised copy.

My LG LCD/LED TV seems to cope very well with a composite VCR signal via the SCART socket. It obviously shows up the limitations of VHS but is still very watchable and seems to make the best of the signal.
