Default Difference between A49-191X and A49-120X crts

Hi,

Does anyone know the difference between these tube types and whether they are interchangeable in most applications?

Also, perhaps a daft question but is there anyone re-gunning delta tubes anymore?

Thanks

I have never heard of a A49-120x crt. What set is it fitted to? Could be a regun? Sadly there are not any crt rebuilders of colour tv tubes left now Malc.

An A49-120X is listed in the Radiomuseum.
http://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_a49-120x.html

The only suggestion I can offer is the A49-120X has the thinner rimband which permits push through screen presentation. Mazda called it rimband 3.
The type designation indicates the tube is of European origin whereas the A49-191X was developed by RCA and was made by Thorn AEI. Also has rimband 3.
A49-120X and A49-191X can be considered interchangeable. Also A49-192X.

The earlier A49-11X has the metal shell type of implosion protection. This type of tube required the mask to hide the implosion protection. Mazda called it rimband 1.

DFWB.

Thanks for all your answers. I can confirm that both types are suitable for push-through presentation as any other 120X would be. Infact, the two types look identical but I wanted to check there wasn't some subtlety that meant they aren't interchageable.

The 49-120X is a Mullard "Colourex" regun by the way but has the very bulbous shape at the rear top and bottom, unlike say a 56-120X. Maybe it started life as something else.
