Default Servicing a Sony BMC-100P

Hi guys,

It's most difficult to servicing this Betamovie?
This camera have a common faults?

They aren't easy being record-only, this makes servo / tape path faults a time consuming business to correct since you have to keep transfering the cassette between machines.

Before getting too involved I'd make sure to have a "reference" player which is correctly aligned and absolutely free of faults, you will end up going round in circles otherwise.

I Have opened a BMC100p and BMC200P and you have to make sure the Philips screwdriver you use fits EXACTLY to those screw heads otherwise you will wear the tops down and find it near impossible to remove.The ones for the drawer that you push shut, outer cover in particular can be very tight
There are, as I remember one or two belts that could need renewing.
If you look over the camcorder you will see many screws in black.You will need to undo ALL of them, as one or two prevents another part or access to others.
The pinch roller may need cleaning and the bottom of the capstan a TINY drop of oil.

Whatever you do ,take your time and be gentle with it.
