GEC "Setting-up" Tube
Read an interesting article about a tube produced by GEC which aided service engineers.
It was a 6" round tube that could be used on 14" 17" & 21" and would operate directly from the available supplies. Type numbers were 1668VVM 1668VTM, Magnetic & Electrostatic They were supplied in a specialy designed wooden carry case, and could be used on the service bench or in the customers home. Anyone on here ever come across one? any of the ex TV engineers used one? I wonder if any survived? Chris |

Re: GEC "Setting-up" Tube
I remember we had one in the Prestwick workshop of British Relay. I do remember asking at the time what do you use that for, I was told it was a waste of time and it was only ever used one or twice.
It had been binned before I left.
