Re: DATONG Electronics
David I don't think the Cambridge Professor is the same person as David Arthur Tong of Datong the ages and education don't seem to match.

Re: DATONG Electronics
This gives a clue to what happened to Datong as a company.

Re: DATONG Electronics
Datong went very, very quiet on the amateur radio front when he started getting seriously involved in the spooky stuff. It's a requirement of being in that business. So from that point on, nothing has been heard of him in public. From the outside, it seems that his change of direction was rather successful.

Re: DATONG Electronics
Still slightly in the "Air"....... in my view... if you are a keen electronics designer, thats what you are, DNA and all that...I seem to remember David mastered in Chemistry, which could lead to other thing of course. Thanks for all the comments though..

Re: DATONG Electronics
Sorry for coming to this thread a little late. I think I can clear up a few facts.
I had the great pleasure and honour of knowing and working with David and Datong, on and off, through the 70's, 80's and 90's. David held a Class A licence - G4GMQ - besides his Class B G8ENN call sign. I believe David finally divested his interests in the company in the 90's, when it was certainly no longer involved with the amateur radio market. As a hobby, he learned piano and eventually took up the accordion. I believe he still practices with an accordion group in Bradford. Peter |
