Delivering more than picking up doesn't seem such a bad deal. Free spare parts, and even CRTs to fit in other sets.

Thank you MickMichael. I was loosing the battle.Bonfire night is a little over two months away. let us rid ourselves of these 'lovely little things' once and for all. The only good part are the Toshiba tubes but they rarely fail so end up collecting dust in the spares room. John.

Television Magazine, June 2008.

This picture was taken in Slidertogrid's back yard (long after he left the shop). I know because I supplied the picture.

Please place all Fidelity AVS's on here. No need to rush there's plenty of room left for them all!

It must have been long after I sold the business ! They were the sort of sets that we were selling and renting when I was there! It looks like someone had a smashing time! Were they broken and thrown in a pile for the picture? I think the red thing is probably a skip? Much larger than the one we had when I owned the place!
I am proud to say quite a few AVSs went in my skip! Along with Thompson ICC5 onwards. Amstrad Superwides Less tube...

I think the AVS 1600 was probably the worse of the two, and unfortunately sold by Currys in fair numbers, unfortunately I worked for Desistarcare at the time.

I think most of us would rather repair an AVS2000 than a Sharp CS chassis.

Anything within reason can be repaired. It's all about the reliability after the repair. Constant breakdowns annoy the customer and they reflect badly on the guy that repaired it.
The Sharp CS was a disgrace from such a well trusted company. They should all have been recalled for refund or the very reliable later model supplied as replacements.
I must admit, some of the final CRT models were just plain nasty! John.
