Default Help Needed with Sony KV1220DF

Good day Gentlemen,

I'm trying to help a french friend with a Sony KV-1220DF Trinitron colour TV.
This is the Secam version of the 11 inch Trinitron sold from 1972 onwards.
It is equivalent to the British KV-1220UB sold in England.

The TV was in storage for 10 years +
It was powered up with a Variac

First pictures were OK, colour, scan size (see pix)

The set has occasional V sync instability, pots were cleaned.

After being used several times over the last 2 weeks, the TV has developed a severe H overscan issue (see pix). Turned off since for fear of failure in the H scan section.
Also excessive brightness, retrace lines.

Variable resistors on the P2 board : 819 line width and 625 line width have no action.
The picture stays severely zoomed.
Pots cleaned & checked, they are OK.

I have advised the user to stay in 625 only & avoid switching to 819 to avoid stress on the H power stage.

The series regulator on the P1 board outputs 115VDC, spot-on. Monitoring shows no drift.

We have the complete Sony Service Manual (22Mb pdf)
I can zoom sections & post screenshots if required.

The owner has a 819/625 signal generator, SECAM colour bars & convergence crosshatch.
TV is operating via UHF aerial input on 625 L standard SECAM signal.
Digital multimeter & a new Owon digital scope (2 x 100 MHz)
Is a Newbie to colour TV servicing.

Any help appreciated to get Scan width & height back to normal,

Thanks ! in advance for your suggestions,

Best Regards
