Toshiba VHS model V7288
Hello,
I would like info on removing the bottom tray on the above vhs recorder. The 100n capacitor burnt up i need to remove the bottom plate or tray. Also a copy of the circuit would be appreciate it very much. kind regards. Eric. cinema1. |

I take it this is a V-728B? This is a centre load machine and you don't take the lower tray off to gain access. You remove the deck, then the PCB will come out. Bit awkward if the machine died with a tape in it as you'lll need to eject it before you can remove the screws. A battery is useful here.

Glyn the model is Toshiba vhs model V7288. I Only do electic as a hobby, is this repair a big job to replace 100n capacitor having to remove the tape deck ,i dont have any service info hard to comeby. kind regards Eric. cinema1 |

Most but not all decks come out easy,I am guessing there is no separate power supply panel on this model.

I've not heard of a V-7288 - are you sure the last 8 isn't a B?
Anyway, it's not a huge job to remove the deck, and it unplugs. A bit of care should have it out quite easily. Then a couple of screws and the board will come out so you can replace the capacitor. |
