Default 405 lines from laptop PC.

Reading recently about generating a 405 line signal from pc I have bought a suitable card etc to try this. What I would like to know however is can you use a laptop with ability to run two monitors to get the same results?.Or would I be wasting my time trying this.

Another forum member has been trying this but I'm not sure that he has got it going.

I depends on whether a given graphics chipset is supported by a driver, which, in turn, is supported by Jeroni Paul's Winmodelines.

There are a lot of reasons why a laptop would be very desirable indeed for this application, and of course, they mostly come with a connector for a second monitor for extended desktop, although it's likely to be digital on current models rather than analogue (VGA).

Perhaps Jeroni Paul has a list of known to be working machines and adapters.
His email address is on his website

Maybe there a wealth of experience in the vintage arcade games restoration
community for which Winmodelines appears to have been aimed at.

i had 2 lap tops that worked with mode line but would not change the line rates with the punched in line rate settings it would just change the line rate to what ever display setting you put on the second monitor .
Only way i could see around this was added electronics to adjust the line and frame rates which didn't make it worth it .
Another way i was thinking about was to use a desk top graphics card in a dock ,which might also be possible .
The graphics card i have now in this old desk top i found has also a built in 625 line composite video out put that works but stuck with 625 line out put does not work with mode line .
but to use a lap top would be more potable for this .

here above link i was trying to do 625 line with modeline and one of my lap tops ...arrr need that to try the desktop way now
