Default PYE MM mains input.

I need help with understanding the correct mains connections on my PYE MM .
At the rear I have 2 tags on which a previous owner has soldered the mains lead onto. I managed to get another rear panel but hat has an opening where the mains connect so is clearly not safe.
Can anyone please assist in providing information on what it should be so I can make it safe and useable.

I’m not familiar but I would think that radio should have 2 pins sticking out for the power supply, like the Bush DAC 90
If that’s the case and you go back to that method . You can’t earth the chassis like in the picture. For extra safety you might want to make up your own connection making a neat job by running the mains cable directly inside Andy

In the photo, it looks as if the pins have been cut down, if this is the case I would remove the pins and fit a captive mains lead using one of the holes where the pins were.

Although not original, it would make the set safe.

Hi Chris, I think my Pye MM and G sets used a connector that was very close to the type fitted to the DAC90a. The female part from the Bush certainly fitted nicely

I had a Pye like that - the chassis connector was two pins which mated with what was called at the time a "Jug connector" except I don't recall any ground connection like the one shown below.

The cable end mains connector will just be some version of the "standard" two pin UK 5A inline cable connector. Maybe customised like the Bush ones or just off the shelf like the Bulgin ones used for the QUAD II. About the only "standard" to them was the pin size and spacing.
