Default What's happened to VeeCAD?

Hi,

I'm setting up a new computer and went to download VeeCAD, only to find that the site times out.

https://veecad.com

Does anyone know if this is permanent?

I didn't keep a backup of the installer and can't find one online.

It's been opensourced and the source is available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/veecad-2-further/

However it's written in Delphi and I no longer have a Delphi compiler. Does anyone know where a binary of the installer may be found?

thanks
Stewart

Stewart: I'm a VeeCAD user and find it a very useful -- simple -- program for doing Vero board layouts.

I can't get any joy from the URL given in the program, veecad.com.

I've got the installation files that I was sent when I bought a copy in April 2019, but I'd be slightly reluctant to send them to you without a definite statement from VeeCAD that they had stopped trading.

The contact details on my receipt are-
Roger Lascelles

Ocean Grove, Victoria 3226
Australia
support@veecad.com
So maybe it would be worth a snailmail to that address?

If veecad.com doesn't reappear then the install/help/source files (V2.40.0.0) can be found on the Wayback Machine:-

https://web.archive.org/web/20191106...downloads.html

(Capture of https://veecad.com/downloads.html Nov 2019.)

Cheers

Hi Richard,

I too purchased a license before it went open source.

I'll try an email first and see if Roger is still contactable.

cheers

Thanks for the wayback link. I've got version 2.40 from there. I'm on 2.41 elsewhere, but I don't think it's going to be an issue.

Never heard of this before! Very interesting. Is the schematic editor part of it?

It doesn't come with schematic capture, but it can read most netlist files.

There are / were tutorials and libraries for TinyCAD (free) but I use it with KiCAD.

The aspect that takes me the most time is making sure the components are assigned the correct footprints. Hint - with two instances open copy / paste from the template veecad projects into your project is the quickest way.
