Default Mystery Set. Identified as a Bush T91.

Can anyone identify the television set in "Passport to Pimlico" 1949?

Peter

Hi Peter, here's the same set out on the street during civil disorder.
Also a Bush SUG3 radio.
The TV set has a Bush look about it but it's certainly not a TV1.

There's a stall full of 1940s radios in one scene.

Well spotted Lawrence and David!

I looked through Jon's site but missed it.

Thanks,

These films are like time machines. I always keep a weather-eye on the skylines, but it's noticeable how devoid they were of Xs and Hs in those early days.

There's a Bush TV2 in the workshop. Except for the installation of a 12" CRT it is electrically identical to the TV1. The cabinet like the one used to house the TV1 and in order to accommodate the larger tube a special extension part is attached to the front of the cabinet. It looks awful. Nevertheless, Bush Radio applied for a patent for the cabinet modifications.

Edit - it was early and I need to learn how to read.... Plz ignore that garbage I have posted..

I looked on the internet and found a page about it.
The one on the net had 3 knobs on the front though, whilst there are only two in the original picture. I wonder what the middle knob did.
