Default Car Radio Blaupunkt Freiberg RCM 45

Hello,

I have got a car radio Blaupunkt RCM 45, made about 1990 or so. Reception is ok but there is no illumination lit, neither for display background nor for the knobs. Before I start dismantling it I would like to ask if someone has fixed such a radio (or a similar set) before. It does not look too crammed inside but I haven't got any documentation on it further than operator's manual and installation manual.

Many thanks for any advice!

Joe

If this set has a multipole DIN connector that is harness fed, there will be a seperate wire for supply to the vehicle lighting circuit, that will illuminate the set when vehicle side lights are on. The set will probably also have a feed wire for memory back up (permanent +12v). Without this connection the radio will not remember pre progammed stations.
