Default Clansman PRC 320 Battery connections

Hi All,

Simple question for someone - I'd like to know the polarity of the 2 battery studs on the side of a PRC 320, as there is no obvious markings, and I don't have a suitable battery to refer to.

I'd like to hook up a 24V external supply to test the unit.

Cheers,

Yes, thanks for that Chris - transposing the picture suggests that +ve is the lower of the two studs on the front side of the unit.

I haven't metered it out yet, as I've only just got it, but I'd imagine that -ve would be grounded to the case anyway.

Cheers,

If you look for it, the 320 itself is marked with polarity. It is on one of the battery locating studs.

I couldn't see anything, but I'll certainly take another look. My eyesight is, unfortunately, not what it was...

Yours won't be highlighted in red because I do that to avoid mistakes!

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for that - I wasn't looking at the lumps of metal on either side of the tags! - probably for something more subtle...

Cheers,
