Default Drill motors

Prompted by a post in Homebrew (https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=118653) for a 12v drill speed controller . It took me back to an emergency drill motor I lashed up,which might give food for thought. A lot of commercial office dictation equipment use a motor speed control board and a 12v motor with feedback to control speed of tape motor in record/playback mode. Problem is how to connect drill to shaft. I found that the innards of a cable connector on the shaft, with sleeving on the drill gave a reasonably wobble free ( albeit a bit HR) drill. I added a push switch and powered it from my Weller iron ( rectified /smoothed /regulated to 12v ) ac output.
