Default Roberts R66 speaker connections

When reassembling an R66, make sure that the red speaker wire is soldered to the insulated tab and that the black speaker wire is connected to the chassis tab. The speaker in these sets is unusual in that one side of the voice coil is connected to chassis via the chassis tab. If the speaker is incorrectly reconnected, the output signal will be short circuited when the chassis is re-fitted since there is no clearance between the speaker magnet and the chassis when the set is reassembled. I found this out only after dismantling the set for the tenth time wondering why it only worked with the chassis out on the bench.
